Kakuzan/Tokutake Workshops
(May 25-26, 2024)

Over 250 bonsai pots were made by 60 BSOP members during the two-day Kakuzan bonsai pot making workshops where Kakuzan instructed us on different techniques for making bonsai pots by hand. The real work began when the pots were glazed and fired. Of the 17 glaze options available, the most popular by far was...yellow(!) followed by crystalline blue and then dark green. Special thanks to BSOP members Misha Amagasu, Andrew Mitchell, and John Jaramillo for helping to prepare all 250 pots for glazing. Examples of the workshop pots are at the bottom of this gallery.
